Meet Coach Karin

I am honored that you are
considering me to be your coach. Let me tell you a little about
myself.
I came to coaching through an adventuresome yet purposeful path.
For those who appreciate a short
story, I went from:
- a sport enthusiast and
physical education teacher (B.S.), to
- a free spirit and dance
therapist (M.S.), to
- a spiritual seeker and
editor of Sufi publications, to
- a world traveler and lover
of the outdoors, while being

- a wife, a work at home
mom, eventually
- an empty-nester, and
now in my second-adulthood
- a Life Coach.
At present, I am working as a Personal Life Coach and Retreat Leader in the greater Philadelphia area. I am a Coach U Graduate, the oldest coach training institute in the country. I am a member of the International Coaching Federation, a Certified Season of Change and Purpose Clarity Coach, and a Master Retreat Coach.
For those who enjoy a bit more of a tale:
As a young girl I grew up in Connecticut, where I was always
outdoors, running through the woods with the collies my family
raised, or out on the water racing sailboats. In school I was
on a different varsity team each season and president of the athletic
association. So it was no surprised when I went to college for
a B.S. in physical education.
Then came the sixties and the sport enthusiast became a modern
dancer, a free spirit of the times. I did go on to teach physical
education for two years, but at a private school in Manhattan,
so that I could be in the center of the dance world.
With the seventies, came the activism spirit and the desire to
contribute more to society and to gain a deeper understanding
of human nature. So I earned a M.S as a dance therapist trained
in Psychosynthesis.
At this point my life took a dramatic turn. I met a Sufi Master
by the name of Bawa Muhaiyaddeen. Around the same time I also
met my husband, and together we spent the next 12 years traveling
with this remarkable spiritual teacher, as he advised and consoled
people from all walks of life from all parts of the world. It
was truly an amazing and unique experience.
After Bawa Muhaiyaddeen’s death in 1986, my husband and
I settled down and began raising our two lovely daughters. As
a work at home Mom, I was the managing editor of The Fellowship
Press and assisted in the publication of over twenty books of
Bawa Muhaiyaddeen’s extraordinary wisdom.
Before I knew it, my husband and I had been married for thirty
years and we had become empty nesters. Time for some changes!
Together we started working with an Imago marriage therapist and
got back in touch with each other and most importantly our selves. My husband sold the family business and went back to school for
a M.S. in clinical social work and I became a Life Coach. Today,
we are both enjoying our second adulthoods and intend to keep
on learning and growing.
